On this tour we will take you and your group on one of the greatest historical adventures of Tenerife. We will visit one of the most important municipalities of the island, Valle de La Orotava. We will go into its historical center to discover its beautiful buildings and places, as well as its surroundings.

Our first stop is the visit to the oldest house in the Valley, Casa de los Balcones, whose radiant façade leaves an exquisite architectural sweetness of yesteryear to our eyes. Its balconies were built with Canarian pine and carved by hand. The simple fact of standing outside is in itself an honor: to observe the alignment of the cobblestones forming the streets, to analyze the scent in the mornings with freshly made gofio from the nearby mills, to enjoy the scarce crowd and the artistic beauty from the area will make you transport yourself centuries ago in the twinkling of an eye . The longevity of Canarian culture is glimpsed in all elements of the landscape, as well as its rural roots. As we will detail later, La Orotava is also known for its agricultural wealth. However, your imagination would not be mistaken if it made you feel under your feet the rumble of the herds of animals passing by your side near this house, because in the past a big part of the municipality was formed by plantations and pastures.

From stepping on the first floor tile of this mythical building, the illusion will only grow. You will see exhibitions of the typical Canarian clothing, the "Traje de mago", illustrations that date back to the seventeenth century and handmade pieces of all kinds. In addition, you will have the kind treatment of the workers and even the gift of witnessing the making of the fretwork with your own eyes; a sewing technique that has been part of the La Orotava identity for centuries. if you wish, you can buy one of these exclusive creations, or any other typical product of the locality.

Next, we will go to La Casa del Turista, located just in front of  Casa de los Balcones to taste exotic fruits harvested in La Orotava like the papaya. Thus, with a melted delicatessen in our mouths, we will continue the tour. Along the way you will see the different architectural styles that have been reflected in the facades of the buildings throughout history. The coexistence of all of them allows you to take a trip back in time without having to walk too far. However, a special structure will call your attention for its splendor: the Nuestra Señora de La Concepción church. It is the main temple of the historical center, and it is not surprising at all because is the biggest one and most beautiful for its countless baroque details. If we continue a few meters down, we will find a beautiful relaxing garden and the Monumento al Artesano. A statue of a man in commemoration of the first who made the characteristic Alfombras de La Orotava, in other words, ephemeral carpets made by black and colored sand and flower petals. This is part of a a celebration that takes over each year on the municipality, filling the surroundings of the center hall with these amazing handmade craft.

Moreover, continuing with our tour, we are lucky to pass in front of the house of the pioneers of this tradition, the Monteverde family. You will be amazed by its immobility in time, since being part of the historical heritage of the municipality has had to preserve its architectural style. Its high walls, its great door and balcony will get your curiosity, without a doubt. However, we must continue towards Casa Lercaro, located on the same street. It was the summer residence of one of the wealthiest families of Tenerife and keeps that Canarian touch both on its façade and inside.

Following our tour, we will see two of the thirteen water mills that were formerly responsible for grinding the gofio. These have been preserved thanks to the families of the millers. This shows again the most rural and rustic side of the Valley.

To end our circuit through the center of La Orotava, we will go to the back of the City Hall. In addition to highlighting artistic and cultural sites, it is necessary to focus on the flora of this town. That is why thanks to its good weather conditions, the Hijuela del Botánico was built in the eighteenth century: a small complementary area of the famous Jardín Botánico del Puerto de la Cruz , where plants from all over the world are also preserved.

We will continue to head towards the mountain to carry out our visit to the Parque Nacional del Teide, the cherry on top of the cake. First of all, we will cross Aguamansa, the closest municipality at the foot of Pico del Teide. The mountain area is known for their thick fogs during autumn, winter and early spring, leaving a unique visual. However, it will clear up and you will see the beautiful landscape that has been covered. Suddenly, you will have in front of yourself a universe encompassed entirely by vegetation, reigned by the Canarian pine, which will accompany you throughout the journey until reaching our destination. You will get completely disconnected from the stress of the day and immerse yourself fully in that special emotion that we want to feel while on vacation. The walk will become quite pleasant as we explore the national park with the multitude of new colors around us and forms created naturally on each side of the road.

Likewise, with the aim of feeling purely alive and admiring this precious place declared a World Heritage Site, we will make a break in the Visitors Center of Pico del Teide. There a documentary about the Canarian Archipelago origins will be showed to your group. Then you will be ready to explore everything around you. Enjoy!

We will continue climbing to the volcano with the cable car in order of making your experience one of the most unforgettable ones of your entire life. At an altitude of 3,555 meters, very close to the crater, besides noticing the heavier air in your lungs, you can also have in front of you some of the most impressive views of the whole island. And it is not a joke; the Teide is the highest peak in Spain with 3,718 meters of altitude above sea level, and the main tourist spot of the Canary Islands. And it's an active volcano! An incredible location with good weather and pure nature... it cannot be better. Close your eyes, inhale and exhale as many times as you need to feel the inner peace melting into every millimeter of your body. The silence up there can be heavenly if you concentrate, put some effort into it and you will get it. You will feel intimately connected with Mother Nature and witness her beautiful creations. It will be difficult to erase from your thoughts the majesty of the Teide.

To conclude, upon returning from the volcano's slopes, you will be offered a delicious dinner that will make you taste the Canarian gastronomy in a very special way: accompanied by teachings from the field of astronomy. You will learn how to orient yourself with the stars, curious facts about the constellations and so much more.

On our return, we will stop in the middle of the forest to bid farewell to the mountains of Tenerife. The pure air, the feeling of infinity and the inspiration that Teide has made you feel, will make you want to come back again.

We look forward to hearing from you, so do not hesitate to contact us. We are at your service!
